A series of rooms once lived in and used by Ada and Daniel F. Rice to throw lavish parties is now home to the most sought-after business meeting space in DuPage County. In 1939, the couple built the white brick, 19-room home. These rooms have ‘business’ in their foundation as the couple was well-known in Chicago and throughout the State for their contribution to Illinois commerce as well as their far-reaching philanthropic efforts.
What was once the dining room, library, living room and porches of the Rice’s main home can now accommodate up to 70 people for a small business meeting. The atrium comfortably seats up to 250 guests and features large windows that connect visitors to the surrounding landscape. But, you don’t have to think that big. Danada House welcomes small business meetings throughout the library, living room and porches for more intimate conversations. You can even meet around the fireplace or break for coffee on the porch.

Preserving the charm of the facility’s past is paramount. Before the home and some surrounding areas were sold to the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County in 1980, the facility was also the home farm of the 1965 Kentucky Derby winner Lucky Debonair, ridden by jockey Bill Shoemaker. Today, Danada House neighbors the Danada Equestrian Center and a 35-acre prairie restoration initiative.
Meeting participants will experience graceful hospitality in keeping with the building’s history while enjoying all of today’s modern meeting conveniences. The site is home to many different kinds of events so the staff is prepared to accommodate any food or technology requests needed. The property is located east of Naperville Road, one mile south of Butterfield Road and just shy of a mile north of I-88, very close to Naperville’s bustling business corridor. Many overnight accommodations are nearby, and guests have access to the best of Chicago or suburban tourist sites as well as Forest Preserve attractions such as golf, picnics, hiking trails and even tours of a working farm.
