Their home and the 780 surrounding acres it sits on, including its out buildings and a 23-stall Kentucky style stable, was sold to the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County in 1980. Prior to the sale, the facility was also the home farm of one of the couple’s thoroughbreds, Lucky Debonair, the 1965 Kentucky Derby winner.
