Banquets

Most noteworthy about Danada House is its coupling of the charms of bygone days and modern conveniences to create a warm atmosphere for groups of all sizes, even banquets of up to 250 people. Since its backdrop is Illinois’ lovely Danada Forest Preserve and its campus boasts a main “house” and atrium, the beauty of this venue is available to banquet guests year-round.

What the facility is best known for, at least in recent days, is its wedding receptions and banquets of all kinds. One of the best-reviewed banquet halls in the Chicago suburbs, Danada House offers indoor and outdoor banquet options including an atrium that is perennially available, so guests can comfortably enjoy the beauty of any of Chicago’s seasons during an event. In addition to modern climate control, the atrium has tile flooring, an elegant wooden dance floor, state of the art lighting and WiFi.

Danada House is often recognized as one of the top banquet locations in Wheaton, Ill., on the WeddingWire Network of sites, which includes leading wedding sites such as WeddingWire, Project Wedding, Brides.com, Martha Stewart Weddings and Weddingbee. It is also positively reviewed online at Yelp and in Google Reviews for banquet experiences. Notwithstanding its positive online presence, Danada House evokes the hospitality of its historic past.

The banquet hall retains the charisma of its formative years as the home of commodity trader Daniel F. Rice and his wife Ada who built the 19-room, white brick house in 1939. There, they hosted many elegant parties and receptions for Illinois elite. Daniel and Ada were generous philanthropists. Today, in addition to their name remaining on many other sites around Chicago, their foundation still exists and provides assistance to needy children and families. They weren’t the only famous occupants of the property. It was also the home farm to 1965 Kentucky Derby winner Lucky Debonair, ridden by jockey Bill Shoemaker.

Hosting a banquet at Danada House is a step back in time without stepping too far away from modern convenience. The home and the 780 surrounding acres it sits on, including its out buildings and a 23-stall Kentucky style stable was sold to the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County in 1980. Since then, it has served as one of the area’s premier banquet halls.

Conveniently located east of Naperville Road and less than a mile away from I-88, Danada House is easy to drive to from Chicago and centrally located to anyone in the surrounding suburbs. Being so close to the Naperville business corridor means the facility is a great spot for award and business banquets as well as a centrally-located suburban banquet hall for birthday parties.

There are plenty of places to stay overnight just adjacent to Danada House, and guests hoping to make a day out of any event have plenty of nearby entertainment options. Not least of which are the forest preserve’s own facilities such as golf, picnics and hiking trails.
